I've been waiting for months to see if my Protea would flower and today the first one has started to open and I think it's beautiful. There are about 6 on the bush all in different stages of opening.
Today, we went to visit our daughter where she works at HMAS Cerberus, the Royal Australian Navy's premier training establishment near Hastings. I took a few photos, none of which would be regarded as a security risk, but I was aware that I just shouldn't be snapping photos all over the place. This is one of the two churches on the base. The Wardroom is where the officers are served their meals. It's very ornate with two chandeliers and has two large murals, one at each end of the room. Across from one of the churches, there was a park with a small lake/pond but because of the drought we're experiencing right now, there was no water in it.
Hello, this is my first Blog.......until a few months ago, I'd never even heard the term so this is all very new to me. It's still very summery here in Victoria, Australia where I live even though the calender tells us it's now autumn. Last night, this is what we had on the wall of our house, a large huntsman spider - thank goodness it decided not to make it's way indoors or the family would have left in a real hurry. The Commonwealth Games finishes on the weekend but it's been a great time for Melbourne with lots going on in and around the city. As a Scot by birth, it was great to see the Scottish team in their kilts and even better to see them winning so many medals.
GOLDEN PRINCESS - DECEMBER, 2018 18 DAYS NEW ZEALAND / TASMANIA Here we go again, cruising with Princess Cruises out of Melbourne on the beautiful Golden Princess. There's no faulting the standard of service with Princess as we always have a wonderful time and feel so well taken care of with delicious food, entertainment and generally living a life I'd like to at home having no housework or cooking to do. (If only). We treated ourselves this time around with a hired car service to Station Pier in Port Melbourne so our holiday started the second we locked the front door. The car was immaculate and being able to sit back and relax was a great start to our holiday. GENESIS Arriving at the pier, our luggage was soon on board and so were we, ready to enjoy whatever was to come our way.
